Purpose of class
In this lecture, students will learn the basics of the curriculum organized based on the curriculum guidelines and the significance and organization method of the curriculum organized at each school. Students will learn the significance and method of curriculum management that is conducted in a cross-curricular way of thinking according to the actual conditions of each school and region.
Course description
In this lecture, students will learn the basic concepts and school education of the curriculum and curriculum guidelines, the meaning and significance from the perspective of society, and how to organize the curriculum. In addition, learn about the necessity and method of curriculum management in school education, and give an overview of how to evaluate the curriculum itself.

Prerequisites:
Completion of ”Principle of Education” is recommended.

  1. Students will be able to understand and explain the content of school education and the organization of the curriculum.
  2. Students will be able to explain the relationship between educational reforms and social conditions through an understanding of the historical development of the Course of Study in Japan.
  3. Students will be able to understand curricula in other countries and examine issues related to curriculum development in Japan.
  4. Students will be able to understand the content and key revisions of the latest Course of Study and explain the educational content required in contemporary schools.
