Purpose of class
The principles and realities of basic unit systems and various measurement systems are important topics in mechanical control systems, which is why this course on Measurement Engineering is offered. It can be considered a mandatory subject for students who are thinking of research themes related to the control of robots, production equipment, and automobiles.
Course description
The lecture covers necessary units and handling of errors for measurement, principles and methods of measuring various physical quantities, and knowledge about measurement systems. While the lecture will be conducted in Japanese, distributed materials will primarily be in English to accommodate internationalization.
Goals and objectives
  1. Students will understand the International System of Units and how to handle errors.
  2. Students will plan measurement systems that implement specific measurement methods required for mechanical engineering, encompassing the principles and methods of measurement for their applications.
  3. Students will correctly use basic English expressions in measurement engineering.
