Purpose of class
The objective of this course is to study advanced processing methods for images and speech/acoustics, and to acquire practical knowledge and programming skills through hands-on exercises utilizing these techniques.
Course description
Building upon foundational knowledge and basic processing techniques for media such as images and speech/audio/acoustics, this course covers more advanced methodologies. Students will acquire practical knowledge and programming skills through hands-on exercises. Specifically, the curriculum covers image recognition, transformation, and measurement, as well as speech recognition/synthesis, speaker recognition, encoding, and audio/acoustic processing. Furthermore, students are expected to gain insights into system design tailored to specific requirements.
Goals and objectives
  1. Students will be able to understand, implement, and evaluate methods for solving image-related problems.
  2. Students will be able to design, implement, and evaluate systems for core speech/audio/acoustic technologies based on specific requirements, and present their findings.
