Purpose of class
The object of this course is to be able to perform basic matrix operations, solve simultaneous linear equations by Gaussian elimination, compute the determinant and explain and use basic properties of the determinant.
Course description
This is a course on linear algebra. Students will learn about basic matrix operations, inverse matrix, how to solve simultaneous linear equations by Gaussian elimination, and basic properties of the determinant.
Goals and objectives
  1. To be able to basic operations for matrix
  2. To be able to solve simultaneous linear equations by Gaussian elimination, explain relation between the degree of freedom and rank of the coefficient matrix.
  3. To be able to diagonalize 2x2 matrices
  4. To be able to compute the determinant

Evaluated as indicated in ”Course Outcomes” section. A score of 60 or more out of 100 points is required to pass this course. To pass this course, students should be able to perform basic operations for matrices, Gaussian elimination method, and computation of determinants.
